Kansas gifts tend to go to one of three people: someone who lives there, someone who went to school there, or someone who just loves the open country. Here's what we make for each.
Everything below is in our Kansas gifts collection.
The Sunflower State design
Kansas is known as the Sunflower State. Our Sunflower State design pairs the state outline with a bison and a sunflower, plus "The Sunflower State" and EST. 1861, the year Kansas became a state.
The Sunflower State slate coaster set comes as a single coaster or a set of 4, 6 or 8, in natural slate, round or square, 4 inches across and a quarter inch thick. The edges are hand chiseled, so no two coasters are alike, and four foam pads on the back protect the table. There's a lighter cork version, 3/16 inch thick, that grips without pads and takes a hot mug.

For locals
For someone in Wichita, the city skyline fits better than the state outline. Our Wichita skyline shows a sculpture where two rivers meet, with the arena and a Ferris wheel. It comes on a wall sign, 10 by 10 inch leatherette in blue or brown with a sawtooth hanger, slate and wood ornaments and a bamboo board.

For alumni
We don't make school or team designs. For someone who went to college in Kansas, the state designs work without picking sides. Est. 1861 puts the statehood year under the outline, and it comes on the Kansas slate coaster set and the Kansas wine bottle cutting board, solid bamboo, 17 by 5.25 inches.

For prairie people
For someone who'd rather be out in the open country, the Sunflower State water bottle goes where they go. It's 32 oz insulated stainless steel in black or white, with a flip top and a built-in straw. Hand wash only.

Timing
These aren't made in Kansas. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each piece after you order. Orders ship within 1 to 5 business days, coasters in a white gift box and boards and wall art in a plain box, so plan on wrapping a board or sign meant as a gift.
