The typical Hawaii souvenir shelf is a wall of the same things: keychains, snow globes with palm trees in them, shirts in every size but yours. Plenty of it is fun. A lot of it ends up in a drawer once you're home.
A better souvenir gets used, and it doesn't have to be bought on the island or squeezed into a suitcase. That's the idea behind our Hawaii gifts and souvenirs collection.
Where these are made
Let's be clear about this, because it matters in Hawaii: our pieces are not made in Hawaii. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave the Hawaii design after you order. If you want something made in the islands by island makers, buy it there, and you'll be supporting local businesses when you do.
What we offer is something different: a Hawaii design on a piece you'll use at home, made when you order it rather than made ahead and left waiting on a shelf.
Coasters for the coffee table
Coasters are the underrated souvenir. They're out every day, and guests pick them up.
The Aloha State slate coaster set comes as a single coaster or a set of 4, 6 or 8, in slate, 4 inches across, round or square, engraved with the Hawaiian islands, a volcano, palm trees, a hibiscus and a sea turtle, along with "The Aloha State" and "EST. 1959." The slate is a quarter inch thick with hand chiseled edges, so each coaster in the set is a little different, and each has foam pads on the back.
The same design comes on a lighter cork coaster set. Cork is 3/16 inch thick and takes a hot mug as well as a cold glass.
A water bottle for the next trip
The Hawaii 32 oz water bottle carries the same Aloha State design, engraved down to the bare steel so there's nothing to peel. It's insulated stainless steel, in black or white, with a flip top and built-in straw. Hand wash it, since dishwasher heat can damage the insulation.
An ornament to remember the trip
An ornament comes out of the box every December, which makes it the souvenir with the longest memory. The Hawaii slate Christmas ornament is dark stone with the design engraved in light, in a 3 or 4 inch round, with a hanging string. You pick from our Hawaii designs, including HI Initials, Hawaii Script and Home Sweet Home.

If the trip was mostly Waikiki and Honolulu, the Honolulu skyline slate ornament shows the city with Diamond Head at one end and the Pacific at the other.
Something for the kitchen
The Honolulu skyline serving board is solid bamboo, 17 by 5.25 inches, cut in the shape of a wine bottle, with the skyline and city name engraved on one face. It's a cheese board, a bread board or a drinks tray, and it gets pulled out every time you have people over.

Order when you're home
Because every piece is made to order, you don't have to find room for it in your luggage. Each one is engraved after you order and ships within 1 to 5 business days. Coasters ship in a white gift box, and boards and wall art in a plain box.
When the tan fades, you'll still have something to show for the trip. Browse the whole range on the Hawaii collection page.
