A kitchen in a new state takes a while to feel like yours. A cutting board with the state on it helps, whether someone just moved to Georgia or left Georgia for somewhere else and wants a piece of it in the new kitchen.
Here's what our Georgia boards are and which design fits. They're all in our Georgia gifts collection.
What the board is
Every Georgia board starts from the same blank: solid bamboo, 17 by 5.25 inches, cut in the silhouette of a wine bottle. The design is laser engraved into one face, so there's no ink or paint to wear off. The engraving comes out in shades from brown to near black, so no two boards look exactly alike.
It's long and narrow, so it's a serving and light slicing board rather than a chopping block. It's good for cheese and crackers, sliced peaches, or a loaf of bread on the table.

The peach and the capitol dome
Georgia is known as the Peach State. Our Peach State design pairs the state outline with a peach and the capitol dome, plus "The Peach State" and EST. 1788. You'll find it on the Peach State slate coaster set, the Peach State wall sign and the water bottle.
The Peach State design isn't on the boards, but the Atlanta skyline cutting board has the capitol dome too, with the Peachtree towers around it.

For someone who just moved to Georgia
The Georgia wine bottle cutting board comes in our 16 Georgia state designs. For a new arrival, these fit:
- Home Sweet Home, with the state shape standing in for the O in HOME
- HOME Outline, HOME with the state outline as the O
- Classic Outline, just the state shape

For someone who left Georgia
For a Georgian in another state's kitchen, a design that says where they're from works best:
- Georgia Script, the state name in script
- Est. 1733, the year the Georgia colony was founded
- GA Initials, for a plain look
If they left a specific city, the Savannah cutting board shows the Talmadge Bridge, the dome of City Hall and a riverboat, and the Atlanta board shows the Peachtree towers.

Make it a set
A board and a coaster set make a fuller gift. The Georgia slate coaster set comes as a single coaster or a set of 4, 6 or 8, in natural slate with hand chiseled edges, round or square, in the same state designs.
Care
- Hand wash and towel dry. No dishwasher.
- Don't leave it soaking. Standing water warps a board.
- Oil it with food safe mineral oil when it starts to look pale.
- Store it upright so air reaches both sides.
Made to order
These aren't made in Georgia. We keep bamboo blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each board after you order. Boards ship within 1 to 5 business days in a plain box, so wrap it yourself or have it sent to you first. See every board on the Georgia collection page.
