Georgia spends a lot of the year outside. Porch season runs long, and in the fall, football Saturdays fill the living room and the back deck. Both mean a lot of cold glasses sweating onto tables.
Here's what our Georgia coasters are and which set fits where. They're all in our Georgia gifts collection.
Slate or cork
Georgia coasters come single or in sets of 4, 6 or 8, round or square, 4 inches across.
Slate
Natural slate, a quarter inch thick. The edges are hand chiseled, so no two coasters in a set are exactly alike, and four foam pads on the back protect the table. Slate soaks up condensation instead of pushing it onto the table, and its weight keeps a coaster from sliding when you lift your glass. That matters with a glass of sweet tea on a humid afternoon.
Cork
Cork is 3/16 inch thick and much lighter. It grips the table without pads, won't clatter or chip, and takes a hot coffee mug as well as a cold glass. It's the easier one to spread around a room.
For porch season
The Peach State slate coaster set pairs the state outline with a peach and the capitol dome, plus "The Peach State" and EST. 1788. Georgia is known as the Peach State, and the peach is the part people notice first.
Rinse slate with warm water and let it air dry.
For football Saturdays
A full house on game day means more glasses than one set covers. The Peach State cork coaster set has the same design on lighter cork. Order two or three sets and put them on the side tables, the kitchen island and the deck rail.
We don't make team or school designs, so these work no matter who you're rooting for.
The state designs
For something other than the peach, the Georgia slate coaster set and the Georgia cork coaster set come in our 16 Georgia state designs. A few that work on a porch or in a den:
- Home Sweet Home, with the state shape as the O in HOME
- Georgia Script, the state name in script
- GA Initials, for a plain look
- Classic Outline, just the state shape
Every coaster in a set carries the same design, so if you want a mix, order a second set in another design.

Pair it with a board
For snacks on game day, the Atlanta skyline cutting board is solid bamboo, 17 by 5.25 inches, cut in the shape of a wine bottle, with the Peachtree towers and the capitol dome.
Timing
These aren't made in Georgia. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each set after you order. Sets ship within 1 to 3 business days in a protective sleeve. If you need them by a certain Saturday, add carrier transit time and order early.
See every set on the Georgia collection page.
