Made for North Carolina

North Carolina is the Tar Heel State. Made for a table in Charlotte, Raleigh and the Triangle, Asheville in the mountains, Wilmington, or the Outer Banks. Alongside the outlines, script lettering and heart and star accents, the set includes designs drawn only for North Carolina: the NC Initials monogram, North Carolina Script and Est. 1789.

What you get

• 1, 4, 6 or 8 coasters, every coaster in a set engraved with the same design
• Your choice of 16 North Carolina designs, state outlines, script lettering, the state name, heart and star accents, and more
• Round or square, both 4" across

Details

• Material: natural cork, 3/16" thick
• Size: 4" round or 4" square
• Grip: cork holds the table on its own, no pads needed, and nothing to peel off later
• Heat resistant: safe under a hot mug as well as a cold glass
• Finish: laser engraved, the design is burned into the cork, dark against the natural grain, and will not fade or wash off
• Sustainable: cork is harvested from the bark, so the tree keeps growing
• Packaging: ships in a protective sleeve (not gift boxed)

Made to order

We keep the cork in stock and run your design only after you order, so nothing sits on a shelf waiting. Your order is engraved and shipped within 1-3 business days.

Cork or slate?

We make this same North Carolina design on both. Cork is light, quiet and warm-toned, it takes a hot coffee mug as happily as a cold glass, it won't clatter on the table, and it can't chip. Slate is heavier and darker, with hand-chiseled edges, and reads more like barware. Cork is the everyday set; slate is the one you put out for company. See the North Carolina slate version here.

A good gift for

Anyone who grew up in North Carolina, moved away from it, or moved to it, new homeowners, students heading to UNC, NC State or Duke, weddings, retirements, or the transplant who still calls North Carolina home.

The same state on other pieces

All 16 North Carolina designs are also engraved on the slate coaster set. If you would rather have one classic design, there is a Tar Heel State cork set and a matching bottle opener coaster. The same state art is on a leatherette wall sign and a 32 oz water bottle. Everything for the state is in North Carolina gifts.
