In a New Mexico kitchen, the board comes out for more than bread and cheese. We make a New Mexico cutting board in three versions: the state in 17 designs, Albuquerque and Santa Fe. To be clear up front, none of them has chile on it. They carry the state, or a city skyline.
They're all in our New Mexico gifts collection.
What the board is
Each board is solid bamboo, 17 by 5.25 inches, cut in the shape of a wine bottle. That long, narrow shape makes it a cheese board, a charcuterie plank or a bar tray. The design is laser engraved into the surface, so there's no ink or paint to wear off, and the engraving shifts between browns and blacks, so no two boards match exactly.
The state board
The New Mexico wine bottle cutting board comes in our 17 New Mexico designs. A few that suit a kitchen:
- Est. 1912, the state outline with the statehood year
- Home Sweet Home, with the state shape as the O in HOME
- Classic Outline, the state shape and nothing else

Albuquerque
The Albuquerque board carries the city skyline under the Sandia Mountains, with a hot air balloon over it.

Santa Fe
The Santa Fe board carries adobe churches with the Sangre de Cristo Mountains behind them.

Care
Hand wash and towel dry. No dishwasher, and don't leave it soaking.
Pair it with coasters
The Land of Enchantment slate coaster set has a roadrunner, cactus and pines on natural slate coasters, sold single or in sets of 4, 6 or 8, 4 inches across and a quarter inch thick. Slate soaks up condensation instead of pushing it onto the table.
Timing
These aren't made in New Mexico. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each board after you order. Boards ship within 1 to 3 business days in a plain box, so plan on wrapping it if it's a gift.
