Plenty of people spend a few years in Massachusetts for school or work and then move on. Gifts from Massachusetts for them work best when they point at the place, not a souvenir stand. Here's what we make for alumni and homesick transplants.
Everything below is in our Massachusetts gifts collection.
For alumni
We don't make school or team designs. For someone who went to school in Boston, the city skyline covers it without picking a campus. Our Boston skyline shows a cable-stayed bridge, the Charles River and a skyline that mixes old streets with glass towers.
- Boston wall sign, 10 by 10 inch leatherette in blue or brown, with a sawtooth hanger
- Boston slate ornament and Boston wood ornament
- Boston bamboo board, 17 by 5.25 inches, cut in the shape of a wine bottle
For homesick transplants
For someone who grew up in Massachusetts and lives somewhere else now, the HOME designs say it plainly:
- HOME Outline, HOME with the state outline as the O
- Home Sweet Home, with the state shape as the O in HOME
Both come on the Massachusetts slate coaster set, the Massachusetts cork coaster set, the Massachusetts wine bottle cutting board and our Massachusetts ornaments.
For someone who misses the coast
Massachusetts is known as the Bay State. Our Bay State design pairs the state outline with a whale, a lighthouse and the sun over Cape Cod and the islands, plus "The Bay State" and EST. 1788, the year Massachusetts joined the Union. The Bay State wall sign is 10 by 10 inch leatherette in blue or brown, ready to hang.
For December
The Merry Christmas From Massachusetts leatherette ornament arches the words over the state shape, with the state name in script and a laurel wreath underneath. It also comes in slate and wood, and ships straight from us to their address.
Timing
These aren't made in Massachusetts. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each piece after you order. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, coasters and ornaments in a protective sleeve and boards and wall art in a plain box, so plan on wrapping anything meant as a gift.
