In Maine, people who weren't born there are often called "from away," no matter how many summers they've spent on the coast. This guide flips that around: it's for sending a bit of Maine to someone from away, whether that's a friend who's never visited or family who used to come up every August and hasn't in years.

A note on "from Maine"
These pieces aren't made in Maine and don't ship from Maine. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, engrave the Maine design after you order, and ship from there straight to the address you give us. So what you're sending is a Maine design, sent on your behalf. If you want something made in the state, like syrup, blueberry jam or a Maine maker's craft, buy that from a Maine business.
Show them the whole state
For someone who's never been, the Pine Tree State design is the quickest introduction. It pairs the state outline with a lobster, pines and a lighthouse, plus "The Pine Tree State" and EST. 1820.
The Pine Tree State slate coaster set comes as a single coaster or a set of 4, 6 or 8, in 4 inch slate, round or square, with hand chiseled edges and foam pads on the back.
