The first Christmas in a beach house deserves something for the tree. Here are our Delaware Christmas ornaments and which one suits a first year.
They're all in our Delaware gifts collection.
The three materials
- Slate: dark natural stone, 3 or 4 inch round, with a pre-drilled hole and hanging string. The design reads light against the stone.
- Wood: natural wood, 3.5 inches across, with a twine hanger already tied on. The design reads dark against the pale grain.
- Leatherette: a 3 3/4 inch round in black, blue or brown. It's light and shatterproof, the one to hang low if there are kids or cats near the tree.
All three come in our 16 Delaware designs.
For a first Christmas in the house
Two of those designs were made for a home:
- HOME Outline, HOME with the state outline as the O
- Home Sweet Home, with the state shape as the O in HOME
We don't add names or dates, so the ornament marks the house rather than the year.
Merry Christmas From Delaware
The Merry Christmas From Delaware leatherette ornament arches the words over the state shape, with the state name in script and a laurel wreath underneath. It also comes in slate and wood. It's the one to mail to family who couldn't make it down.
The First State ornament
Delaware is known as the First State. Our First State design pairs the state outline with a gray fox, a waterfall and pine forest, plus "The First State" and EST. 1787, the year Delaware became the first state to ratify the Constitution. It comes as a leatherette, slate or wood ornament.
Timing
These aren't made in Delaware. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each piece after you order. Ornaments ship within 1 to 3 business days in a protective sleeve, so plan on wrapping them if they're a gift. Add carrier transit time if they need to arrive before Christmas.
