The design pairs the Montana state outline with a grizzly bear, a trout and mountain peaks, "The Treasure State" and EST. 1889. The design is cut into the stone itself, so it will not fade, peel or wash off, and it comes out of the box looking the same every December.

This is the slate one: dark stone with the design cut in light, heavier in the hand, in 3" or 4". The same design in wood is pale and warm, with the engraving reading dark against the grain, in a single 3.5" size.
