Most trip souvenirs get put in a drawer. An ornament gets taken out every December and hung where everyone can see it, which makes it one of the better ways to remember a trip to Kentucky.
Here's how to pick a Kentucky ornament from our Kentucky gifts collection, whether you visited, moved away, or want to send one home.
The Bluegrass State design
Our Bluegrass State design pairs the state outline with a galloping horse and a bourbon barrel, plus "The Bluegrass State" and EST. 1792. It's a whole-state design, so it fits whatever the trip was about.
It comes in three ornaments:

Pick the material
Slate
Dark natural stone with the design engraved in light, in a 3 or 4 inch round, with a pre-drilled hole and a hanging string. The 4 inch reads from across the room.
Wood
Light natural wood, 3.5 inches across and about a tenth of an inch thick, with the design engraved dark into the grain. A twine hanger comes already tied on.
Leatherette
A thin 3 3/4 inch disc in black, blue or brown. It's shatterproof, so it's the one to hang low if kids or pets are around, and the easiest to pack in a suitcase or mail.
If the trip was a city
A skyline marks a specific place better than the state outline does.
- Louisville: downtown towers and bridges on the Ohio River. Slate or wood.
- Lexington: a racing thoroughbred and horse barns. Slate or wood.
Merry Christmas From Kentucky
For sending one to family, the Merry Christmas From Kentucky ornament arches the words over the state shape, with the state name in script and a laurel wreath underneath. It comes in leatherette, slate and wood.

Order timing
Ornaments are made to order. Each one is engraved after you buy it and ships within 1 to 3 business days in a protective sleeve. Add carrier transit time, and order early in the season if it needs to arrive by a certain date.
