Plenty of Minnesotans eventually trade the snow for somewhere warmer: a retirement in Arizona, a job in Texas, a condo in Florida for the winter months. They don't stop being Minnesotan. They just stop owning a snow shovel.
This guide is for sending a bit of Minnesota to someone who moved south. Everything below is in our Minnesota gifts collection.
A note on "from Minnesota"
These pieces aren't made in Minnesota and don't ship from Minnesota. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, engrave the Minnesota design after you order, and ship from there straight to the address you give us. So what you're sending is a Minnesota design, sent on your behalf. If they miss the food, order wild rice or a local favorite from a Minnesota business.
If they miss the lake
For someone who spent every summer at a cabin, the North Star State design is the one to send. It pairs the state outline with a loon, a canoe and lakeside pines, plus "The North Star State" and EST. 1858. The loon is Minnesota's state bird, so it's the design that says lake country without a word.
The North Star State wall sign is 10 by 10 inch leatherette with a sawtooth hanger. The blue version, with silver-grey engraving, looks especially at home in a bright southern room.
The same design comes on a slate coaster set and a 32 oz water bottle, which will get plenty of use in the heat.
If they miss Saint Paul
For someone who left the Twin Cities' east side, the Saint Paul skyline shows the cathedral dome, the capitol and bridges over the Mississippi. Send the Saint Paul skyline wall sign for the new place or the Saint Paul skyline cutting board for someone who hosts.

If they're setting up a new house
For a new home in a warmer state, Home Sweet Home makes the point that Minnesota is still home. The state shape stands in for the O in HOME. It comes on the Minnesota slate coaster set and the Minnesota wine bottle cutting board, along with the rest of our Minnesota state designs. Each coaster set carries one design.

For their first Christmas without snow
A December without snow can feel strange to a Minnesotan. The Merry Christmas From Minnesota leatherette ornament brings a bit of it back. It's thin, shatterproof and easy to mail, and it also comes in slate and wood.
Shipping it to them
Put their address in at checkout and it goes straight to them. Each piece is engraved after you order and ships within 1 to 3 business days. Coasters and ornaments ship in a protective sleeve; boards and wall art ship in a plain box. If the unboxing matters, have it sent to you first and wrap it yourself. Add carrier time, and order early for birthdays and holidays.
