The first Christmas after a move is worth marking with something that goes back on the tree every year. Here are our Iowa ornaments, whether the move was to Iowa or away from it.

Three materials
- Slate is dark natural stone, a 3 or 4 inch round, with the design engraved pale into the stone and a hanging string included.
- Wood is light, 3.5 inches across and about a tenth of an inch thick, with a twine hanger already tied.
- Leatherette is a thin, shatterproof disc, 3 3/4 inches, in black, blue or brown, with a cord attached. It's the one to hang low if there are kids or cats near the tree.
HOME designs
For a first Christmas in a new place, two of our 16 Iowa state designs fit best:
- HOME Outline, HOME with the state outline as the O
- Home Sweet Home, with the state shape as the O in HOME
Both come on the Iowa slate ornament, the Iowa wood ornament and the Iowa leatherette ornament.
The Hawkeye State ornament
Iowa is known as the Hawkeye State. Our Hawkeye State design pairs the state outline with an American goldfinch and a sunflower, plus "The Hawkeye State" and EST. 1846, the year Iowa became a state. It comes on a leatherette ornament, a slate ornament and a wood ornament.
Merry Christmas From Iowa
The Merry Christmas From Iowa leatherette ornament arches the words over the state shape, with the state name in script and a laurel wreath underneath. It also comes in slate and wood. If the move was out of Iowa, it's a good one for the family who stayed.
Timing
These aren't made in Iowa. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each piece after you order. Ornaments ship within 1 to 3 business days in a protective sleeve. If you're ordering in December, add carrier transit time.
