Buying for someone who already lives in Alaska is harder than buying for a visitor. They don't need a reminder of the trip. They need something that fits the house. Here's what we make, sorted by where it ends up.
Everything below is in our Alaska gifts collection.
The Last Frontier design
Alaska is known as the Last Frontier. Our Last Frontier design pairs the state outline with a grizzly bear crossing the state map, plus "The Last Frontier" and EST. 1959, the year Alaska became a state.
The Last Frontier slate coaster set comes as a single coaster or a set of 4, 6 or 8, in natural slate, round or square, 4 inches across and a quarter inch thick. The edges are hand chiseled, so no two coasters are alike, and four foam pads on the back protect the table. There's a lighter cork version, 3/16 inch thick, that grips without pads and takes a hot mug.

For someone in Anchorage
If they live in Anchorage, the city skyline fits better than the state outline. Our Anchorage design shows the Chugach Mountains right behind downtown, with Cook Inlet out front. It comes on a wall sign, 10 by 10 inch leatherette in blue or brown with a sawtooth hanger, and on slate and wood ornaments.

For the kitchen
The Alaska wine bottle cutting board is solid bamboo, 17 by 5.25 inches, cut in the shape of a wine bottle. It works as a cheese board, a charcuterie plank or a bar tray. It comes in our 16 Alaska designs, including Est. 1959, which puts the statehood year under the outline. There's also an Anchorage board.

For the truck or the boat
The Last Frontier water bottle is 32 oz insulated stainless steel in black or white, with a flip top and a built-in straw. The design is engraved through the powder coat, so it won't peel. Hand wash only.

Timing
These aren't made in Alaska. We keep plain blanks in stock in our workshop in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and engrave each piece after you order. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, coasters in a protective sleeve and boards and wall art in a plain box, so plan on wrapping anything meant as a gift.
